Mise-En-Scene list

Bathroom scene:

  • Toothbrush (Alex)
  • Toothpaste (Alex)
  • Green t-shirt (Alex)
  • Mirror
For this scene we will need a bathroom setting with a mirror big enough to see the reflection but also so there is enough room to place the camera so you cannot see the reflection in the mirror. For these reasons we have decided to use the upstairs toilet facilities in Oak building at college.

Office scene:
  • Telephone
  • Files (All)
  • Computer (Provided at college)
  • Picture Frame
  • Black jacket
  • Black Skirt
We thought a good place to film this scene would be in the rooms at the back of the library at college, as these are already set up with a phone and a desk that can look realistic for the office scene that we need.

Calendar scene:
  • Calendar (Printed off)
  • Red pen (Provided by college)
As this is shot with an extreme close up shot we thought we could just stick this to a wall at college and shoot us crossing off each of the days then when we are editing just cut it down to the clips that we will need to use.

Bedroom scene:
  • Alarm clock (Emily)
  • Pillow (Get from Drama department's props?)
Eating scene:
  • Salad (Purchased from canteen)
  • Chicken and Chips (Purchased from canteen)
  • Drinks (Purchased from canteen)
  • Magazine (Print off)
  • Blue t-shirt (Alex)
  • Brown t-shirt (Chloe)
For this scene we have decided to film it in the rooms at the back of the theatre in Oak as they will be free and quiet when we want to film, and it will look like a realistic place where someone would eat their dinner so the mise-en-scene will fit in with that of the location used in the existing video.

Location List

Places we will need:

  • Bathroom- upstairs in Oak. We used this room because there is room to place the camera in a position to get a good shot of her reflection in the mirror without seeing the camera in the shot.
  • For the calendar scene we will need a plain white wall to stick the calendar to
  • For the scenes where she is in bed we thought we would get a sheet and pillow and put it on the floor, as it is a close up noone will be able to see the space around it- we decided to do this in the green room as there is good lighting and it was available to use at the time we needed it.
  • In the back of the library there are little rooms available to book which have a desk, phone and computer; all the things we will need for the office scene
  • For the final shot in our 60 seconds we are going to use the rooms behind the theatre in Oak as they will not be occupied and we can set it up in a realistic way that is similar to that in the video
We decided to film all of our shots for the first 60 seconds within college as the video is quite repetitive and simplistic and the office layout can be recreated within our college environment.

Lyrics

Although in the first 60 seconds of our chosen music there is no actual lyrics (just the tune of the music) there is some dialogue that starts around 40 seconds into the video:

Main character: I think I hate my life
Friend: Is it because you gained weight?
Main character: Excuse me?
Friend: (Shows her the magazine) This article...helped me a lot
Main character: I... haven't gained any weight
Friend: You should probably just have my salad instead
Main character: You should probably eat a ****
Friend: *exaggerated chewing noises*
